Bible Wisdom
for
Maturity in Christ
Monday
A Scripture to think about for Monday:
We can always "prove" that we are right,
but is the Lord convinced?
Proverbs 16:2 TLB
Many times we use our prayer time
to try to
convince God
to change his mind
instead of using that time
to try to motivate ourselves
to change our mind.
Tuesday
If a man enjoys folly, something is wrong.
The sensible stay on the pathways of right.
Proverbs 15:21 NLT
Dear Lord,
I am dedicated to you.
So...
I will choose wise things.
I will enjoy godly things.
I will position myself to gain strength from you.
Amen

"Strong Enough"
by Matthew West
When you're hanging on by a thread,
make sure
it is the hem of his garment.

Wednesday
Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 NKJV
Proclamation:
I will be devoted to God
and godly living.
Being Light in a Dark World
Christians are called to be light in a dark world.
When we are in darkness and someone turns on the light,
it hurts our eyes.
As Christians,
if
we are light,
we will not always be welcomed in this world.
We cannot have a right relationship with God
and
a right relationship with the world.
Thursday
Jesus wants to Shepherd us.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way.
Isaiah 53:6 NKJV
Each one of us, at one time or another,
has turned away from the will of God.
Some that are reading this today,
are not in God's will.
~
The prayer below is written for each of us -
no matter
where we are with the Lord.
It is a prayer of dedication to God's will.
Dear Lord,
We all have turned away from your will.
I, Lord, have turned away from your will.
Help me to stay on your path.
Call to me when I need to stop something I am doing.
Today I strengthen my dedication to you.
I declare that I will be sensitive to your
voice of wisdom
guiding me.
Amen

The Bible tells us that we are like sheep.
Below is an excerpt
from our Bible Devotion
that explains what sheep are like:
Friday
Learn as you go along what pleases the
Lord.
Take no part in the worthless
pleasures
of evil and darkness,
but instead, rebuke and expose them.
Ephesians 5:10 TLB
-
But when you expose them,
the light shines
in upon their sin
and
shows it up,
and
when they see how wrong they really are,
some of them
may even become
children of
light.
Ephesians 5:13 TLB
It is not popular to lead others to Righteousness.
Yet,
God tells us to do it.
-
All of us have a leadership role of some kind.-
What are your words and actions saying?
Is your light shining?
