If you want someone to understand

the intense emotional pain you are feeling,

this page is for you.

We cannot totally understand,

but we have experienced great emotional loss

that led to intense grieving.

Note: We have a prayer page specifically dedicated

to Grieving Spouses.

And we have Contemporary Christian Music

to comfort those who are Grieving a lost loved one:

Grieving Comfort

man-unhappy

What have you lost?

Is it a relationship through death, separation, or divorce?

Have you lost

time

that you cannot get back such as

parts of your childhood or sections of your adulthood?

Is it

your self-esteem, or your health, or your money –

or maybe your whole financial security?

Is it your

child-bearing years?

What loss have you encountered

that is attempting to derail your life?

Many times, grief makes us feel like we are in a transparent container. We can see out. People can see us. But we know we are somehow separated from everyone. It appears to others like we are a part of the world, but we feel isolated.

Prayer for Grieving

Lord,

I am crying out to you.

Lord, my emotions are screaming at me.

Lord, I feel alone.

Sadness surrounds me, and depression is pulling me down.

I long for what I have lost. I ache.

My loss permeates my mind and my emotions. My grief aggressively tries to influence the course of most of my waking moments.

Father, help me process my loss. Help me move forward. Help me to welcome joy into those places of pain.

Lord, I need to draw nearer to you. You are my hope and my salvation through this dark valley.

I pray in Jesus' name,

Amen

Prayer for Grieving - Scriptures

The book of Psalms is a good place to find comfort

Psalm 9:9 KJV "The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble."

Psalm 18:2 KJV "The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."

Psalm 34:18a TLB "The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking."

I personally love the Scripture that tells me that

my Father God sings over me

“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 NIV 1984
