Depression is a terrible thing to fight.

It puts a

cloud around you and drags you down

like weights tied to your body

and

cobwebs in your mind.

Depression can be the result of

a myriad of physical, mental, emotional, and

environmental factors working alone or in combination.

Sometimes there is

something physically wrong

that needs a doctors care.

Father,

I lift up to you this hurting woman who is

suffering from depression.

Lord,

Your love is everlasting.

Your steadfast attention is daily directed toward this woman you love. Your compassion is changing things in her life as prayer is being lifted up to you.

Your Word promises us that we are safe in your hand. By faith we know that you are protecting us.

Teach her, Lord, how to receive your good gifts.

Remind her to open her Bible. Direct her toward the passages in your Word that will encourage and motivate her.

Give her strength to press through this difficult time and come to rest beside the still waters of your peaceful presence.

Lord, teach this woman how to pick up the shield of faith to defend herself against the fiery darts of hopelessness and depression.

Thank you, Father, that you are moving on her behalf. Thank you that you are giving her revelations that will lift her out of the reach of depression. Thank you, that you are bringing her hope and encouragement.

In Jesus' Name we pray,

Great Ideas to Help Defeat Depression

This idea comes from a woman living in Georgia.

She had fought depression for several months

and the main strategy she found 

to defeat depression 

was reading Psalms 145 - 150 every day. 

When she had read them for several days, 

things begin to shift.

Since people fighting depression

tend to have major issues with motivation,

we at Inspirational-Prayers have recorded those psalms

for you.

Another Idea

Great Ideas to Help Defeat Depression

The following idea comes from a friend of Inspirational-Prayers.

She was contemplating asking her doctor

for some kind of medication for

depression.

One of her friends suggested taking L-Tryptophan and

L-Tyrosine each day. (You get them at a health food store.)

The woman checked with her doctor before trying them.

When she tried them, her depression went away.

Be sure to consult your doctor before taking anything for depression.

Note that some medications may not react well with other

over-the-counter or health food medications.

Do adequate research and get your doctor's recommendation.
