Tuesday - A Prayer to Pray for a Friend
Wednesday - An Autumn Poem
Thursday - An Autumn Devotional
Monday
I invite you to join me in prayer.
Heavenly Father,
I give you praise today.
You are the author of every day of my life and every season of my year.
I praise you for all the blessings that you have put in my life.
Lord, my life is very busy. Yet, I hear you calling to me to slow down and let the beauty of autumn capture my attention today.
I hear you calling to me
to slow down
and allow the dazzling colors of the trees
to refresh my mind, my emotions, and my body.
I feel the cool, crisp autumn breezes. They remind me of your invisible power and majesty.
Father, the crunching of the leaves under my feet remind me of the passage of time. It wasn't long ago that those leaves were green... I am prompted to consider how short life is.
Your Word says in
Isaiah 40:8,
"The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.”
Lord, I will hear you
as you remind me of
the briefness of life
and the
steadiness of Your Word.
I will hear you
as you tell me to be wise with my days.
I call out
as the psalmist did in
Psalm 90:12 -
"So teach me to number my days,
That I may gain a heart of wisdom."
Lord,
I re-dedicate myself to you today.
You are Wisdom. You are Love. You are Awe-Inspiring -
in your Name I pray.
You are Healing. You are Mercy. You are Life-Giving -
in your Name I pray.
Blessed be the name of Jesus!
Amen

Tuesday
Today we have a
Prayer for a Friend.
Today,
I ask you to
choose a friend
that you want to bless through prayer.
This prayer is written for a woman.
Please adapt for a man.
Heavenly Father,
I lift my friend _____ up to you in prayer.
I thank you for her friendship.
I praise you for all the blessings that you have put into her life.
She stays very busy. She accomplishes many things each day. I pray that you would remind her to keep balance in her life.
I pray that the beauty of autumn,
with its crimson colors and golden hues,
will capture her attention today.
May she slow down and allow the vibrant colors of the trees to refresh her mind, her emotions, and her body.
May the cool, crisp autumn breezes remind her of your invisible power and your majesty.
May the crackling and crunching of the leaves under her feet remind her of the continual cycle of the seasons and how short life really is.
May she slow down and realize how brief life is and how much she needs to gain daily nourishment from your Word.
Lord, your autumn days display your creativity and your splendor. May this day draw ______ to praise you and take joy from your goodness.
In Jesus' Name I pray,
Amen

Consider our other Friend Prayers
Such as as
Wednesday
Recently,
I was telling a close friend about creating this page.
She told me that
she had written a poem
about autumn
when she was a young girl in school.
She still remembers it with fondness
each autumn season.
Below, I share it with you...
Of all the year,
I love the autumn best -
For then I see God's beauty everywhere.
And nature speaks
to me with all its zest.
And surely nothing can with this compare.
When winter winds
blow all the branches bare.
I do not grieve at all.
For next year there will be -
another fall.

Genesis 8:22 NKJV
says,
“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”
Thursday
An Autumn Devotional
I have been thinking a lot about
the leaves of the trees
and the cycles of the seasons.
The golden and crimson leaves
remind me that
when
summer is over,
the leaves begin to get their nourishment
cut off.
Then they will soon fall away from the tree.
I am like the leaves
in that
without nourishment from my source
- who is God -
I will "fall away" from God.
-
I need daily nourishment
from reading the Bible.
I thank God
that he is reminding me today
to put him first in my life.
A Prayer for our Loved Ones
Dear Lord,
We lift up our loved ones in prayer.
We pray that they will be reminded today
of how much
they need nourishment
from you.
In the Loving name of Jesus, we pray,
Amen
