Monday 

What Jesus wants for Christmas

is the salvation

of those he loves.

Let's pray for them.

Morning Prayer

Lord,

I pray that today

as people run to and fro

at work or play,

their attention is directed to the Christmas songs

playing in the background.

And I pray that those who live their life

far away from you

will ponder

with new interest

the message of the birth of the Savior.

I pray that this Christmas

lost sheep will recognize

the Good Shepherd

and begin to follow Him

and Him only.

Amen

This Christmas

let's remember the elderly.

Elderly neighbors or family members

can be given a

Merry Christmas

by offering

to come and do some simple things

around the house

for them.

Simple chores

can be difficult or dangerous

for an elderly person.

Just climbing on a chair or up a ladder

and changing a light bulb

can be a dangerous activity for an elderly person.

So consider giving the gift

of a

helping hand.

Consider

giving a Christmas card

with a message that includes something like:

I'd like to come over

and help you

with some simple things

around the house.

Let me know a convenient time!

Wednesday 

The Christmas Season

is a great time to

reach out

to your friends and family

and

draw them closer to Jesus.

What about sending Christmas Messages?

Consider sending out

a text message 

or an e-mail

to someone

containing a special Christmas prayer

or a link

to a Youtube Christmas song.

Thursday

Reaching out to those who are often forgotten

is a great way to

Celebrate Jesus this Christmas Season!

Consider reaching out to a

local nursing home.

Many who live there

never get a visit from their family.

That makes Christmas

a really hard time for them.

But you could reach out and visit!

What about buying some big packs of

Nativity Christmas cards

and

giving them out in a nursing home?

And how about

doing a little caroling at that same time?

Most Seniors

love

to hear

the

Traditional Christmas songs!

Consider calling a nursing home

and getting permission

to come.

This is an activity that your children can help with.

Your children may even want

to make a simple gift

to give out.

Friday

How can you reach out

to your extended family

in order to draw them closer

to Jesus

during this Holiday season?

Dear Lord,

I want to draw my family closer to you.

Guide my thoughts

to ideas that I can do

that will gently

remind them of you and your love for them.

Amen

Something to consider:

How about a Christmas gift with a Christian theme?

Perhaps a Christian Christmas movie

or a

DVD movie with a Christian theme?
