God tells us to spend less
than we make.
Sometimes there are unusual circumstances
where we have to live on our savings
or
where we go in debt.
Wisdom says that those are times
without spending on unneeded things.
~
In normal circumstances God expects us
to live on what we make.
~
God wants us to learn to live on
LESS
than we make.
God tells us to
Save
for future needs.
"The wise man saves for the future,
but the foolish man spends whatever he gets."
Proverbs 21:20 TLB
~ ~ ~
"Take a lesson from the ants, you lazy fellow.
Learn from their ways and be wise!
For though they have no king to make them work,
yet they labor hard all summer,
gathering food for the winter."
Proverbs 6:6-8 TLB

God wants us to avoid debt.
"Owe no man any thing,
but
to love one another."
Romans 13:8a KJV
The wisdom of God says not to get into debt buying things
we do not need and certainly not things that will not
appreciate in value.
If you choose to go into debt, do it with a lot of analytical thought. Remember... getting into debt to get a college education is not the same as getting into debt to go on vacation.
The more you avoid debt,
the more blessed you are
emotionally and financially.
Unrealistic Expectations
Many people have unrealistic expectations about how daily life should look and feel.
Many people think that life is about going out to eat often, having zillions of channels on cable T.V., going to the movies often, driving an expensive car, buying the latest cell phone, etc.
When our expectations are high,
we find our daily satisfaction low.
AND
When our expectations are high,
we get into a lot of debt.
When we decide to grow our gratitude
to God
for the things we have
and
purposely enjoy the things we have
instead of focusing on what we don't have -
We find our Satisfaction
and Joy in Life
Increasing!

God wants us to
pay our bills on time.
"Don't withhold repayment of your debts.
Don't say 'some other time,' if you can pay now."
Proverbs 3:27 TLB

Biblical Integrity
God wants us
to have
Financial Integrity.
Recently I was at my local DVD rental store.
I was thinking about how thrilled I was that they have lots of Christian movies.
I decided to tell the cashier how much I appreciated all the Christian movies.
I was shocked at her reply. She said....
"We used to have more Christian movies
but people don't return them.
Do you realize that of all the
classifications of movies
including children's movies
Christian movies are the ones
most likely not to be returned?"
I was shocked and dismayed.
That statistic seems impossible.
Yes, some people who aren't Christians rented Christian movies and may not have returned them.
But the obvious conclusion is that many Christians rented Christian movies and did not bother to return them.
AND
it is obvious that the conclusion of the staff
would
be that:
Christians
steal more movies than anyone else.
Something to think about.
Dear Lord,
Where in my daily life
am I not showing
honesty and integrity?
Amen

God wants us to
love wisdom.
Wisdom is knowing and doing right.
Proverbs 3:21a TLB
"Wisdom gives:
A long, good life, riches, honor, pleasure, peace.
Wisdom is a tree of life to those who eat her fruit;
happy is the man who keeps on eating it."
Proverbs 3:16-18 TLB
More Scripture
"He who loves wisdom loves his own best interest and will be a success."
Proverbs 19:8 TLB
~ ~ ~
"My
son, honey whets the appetite, and so does wisdom! When you enjoy
becoming wise, there is hope for you! A bright future lies ahead."
Proverbs 24:13-14 TLB
~ ~ ~
"A wise man is mightier than a strong man. Wisdom is mightier than strength."
Proverbs 24:5 TLB
~ ~ ~
"How can men be wise? The only way to begin is by reverence for God. For growth in wisdom comes from obeying his laws. Praise his name forever."
Psalm 111:10 TLB
~ ~ ~
"Determination to be wise is the first step toward becoming wise!"
Proverbs 4:7 TLB

God wants us to
bless others.
Our income is not just to bless us.
God wants us to
bless others.

~
"If you give to the poor, your needs will be supplied!
But a curse upon those
who close their eyes to poverty."
