A Devotional Week for

Monday

God wants us to put more

significance

in what God wants for us to do

than in what we want to do.

We are not supposed to live our life in independence.

God birthed us in the center of his love.

God created us to live our life

in dependence on God

and with a

deep desire to please God

and

enjoy communing with God every day. 

This world pulls us away from God.

And we personally find ourselves pulling away from God.

We must - intentionally -  stay close to God....

The following

Personal Things

often

draw our attention away from God...

Our goals (short term or long term)

Urgent things

Wonderful distractions  (Enjoyable things)

Terrible distractions (Unpleasant things) 

All these things can direct our attention away from God.

Tuesday

To cultivate a reverence for God,

you must be thankful.

Becoming a person who is daily thanking God

is one of the marks of a dedicated Christian. 

Un-thankfulness pulls us away from God.

Children need to be taught to be thankful.

Teens need to be reminded of the value of thankfulness.

The trait of

Un-Thankfulness

repels good people.

It also sometimes closes doors of opportunity.

Wednesday

Casting off God's boundaries

leads us to destruction. 

God was not careless in how he drew the lines of moral behavior.

We should not be careless in how we interpret his lines.

Those lines were drawn to protect us.

Today's wisdom concept

is another concept that

children and teens and adults

need to deeply understand and also be reminded of often.

Thursday

Which side are you giving more weight to in your mind?

What God says or what you say?

Consider our Morning Scriptures and Evening Scriptures.
