  The Voice of the Lord

Psalm 29:3-5

Psalm 29

3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters:

the God of glory thundereth:

the Lord is upon many waters.

4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;

the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

5 The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars;

yea, the Lord

breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

Cedar trees are very strong.

God's voice can break very strong things.

The Lord's voice can break

insecurities,

addictions,

sinful practices,

bad attitudes,

etc.
                  

We can hear God's voice

as

we read God's Word.

Tuesday

Today we again

talk about

Psalm 29 starting at verse 3.

3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters:

the God of glory thundereth:

the Lord is upon many waters.

4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;

the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

God speaks to us every day.

TODAY

"TODAY when you hear

God's voice

do not harden your heart."

Hebrews 4:7 b

Bible verses are

God

speaking

to us

in written form.

When we read a Bible verse,

God wants us

to "hear" him

and to be

determined

to obey what we hear.

When we ignore God, we harden our heart.

Prayer

Dear Lord,

I proclaim that I want to always:

Hear your Voice,

Welcome your Voice,

and

Follow your Voice.

In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen

Wednesday

3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters:

the God of glory thundereth:

the Lord is upon many waters.

God's voice gives us

STRENGTH.

When we need strength,

God teaches us 

to pray to him and read his word.

For example ...

"I am completely discouraged -

I lie in the dust.

Revive me by your Word."

Psalm 119:25 TLB

Prayer:

Word of God

speak to me.

The Word of God is

POWER

God's word is our light and our counselor.

Psalm 119:105

Thursday

God's Voice is in perfect harmony with God's Word.

God doesn't contradict his word.

Most of the time,

God speaks to us through scripture.

Sometimes God speaks in other ways.

AND if

God does speak in other ways,

we must remember to check that message

against the written word of God.

Because God will never speak something

contradictory

to the written word of God.

I heard a Christian comedian once say,

"Did you know that another name

for God is

Something?

Yep, people will make a mistake and

then say,

'Something told me not to do that.'"

Friday

The voice of the Lord is full of wisdom.

The voice of the Lord

The voice of the Lord whispers to me

to Love.

The voice of the Lord whispers to me

to follow Jesus.

The voice of the Lord whispers to me

to love the Bible.

The voice of the Lord whispers to me

to grow in obedience.

God's voice is heard in his Word.

God's word is "wonder" filled - 

filled with

Wonder 

and filled with

POWER.
