Prayer
Monday August 21, 2023
What you
pray
determines what you pursue.
Your prayers are reflections of your heart.
What kinds of things
are you praying about today?
Are you asking God to help you with your character?
Or are you just asking for more stuff?
Are you asking God to bless your loved ones?
Or are you
only praying for God to bless you?
Consider our page -
Tuesday
Your prayers
reflect
who you are
and
who you want to be.
Your prayers reflect what you have
- that you value -
and what you want to have.
You can
intentionally
improve
yourself
for the better
with
God's help.
Changing your prayer topics is a great start!
Lord God,
I pray for
more of your love inside me.
I pray for
more of your power in order to obey you.
I pray these things
in Jesus' name,
Amen

Our prayers

to our

we are overcoming evil.

In Luke 18,
Jesus told a story about
Two Men.
"Two men went up to the temple to pray,
one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself,
‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men —
extortioners, unjust, adulterers,
or even as this tax collector.
12 I fast twice a week;
I give tithes of all that I possess.’
13 And the tax collector,
standing afar off,
would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven,
but beat his breast,
saying,
‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
14 I tell you,
this man went down to his house justified
rather than the other;
for everyone who
exalts himself
will be humbled,
and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Luke 18:10-14 NKJV
Friday
Prayer can be used as an opportunity
to develop
our friendship with God.
Prayer for Friendship
Dear Lord,
Thank you that you welcome me into your throne room.
Thank you that you want me to share all my thoughts with you - even my innermost thoughts.
Thank you that you are open to hearing about all my wants, needs, and desires.
Today, Lord,
I want to lay aside my wants, needs, and desires.
Today
I come to focus on friendship with you.
Today
I just want to think of things that I can thank you for.
Amen

A Final Prayer
of
Friendship with Jesus
Walking beside you, Jesus,
Trying to obey,
Walking beside you, Jesus,
In the dark and in the day.
This time, I’m not asking,
To see a miracle,
Or to lay out all the things in life,
I’d like to see occur.
I just want to softly,
Come to you and say,
I will always love you,
In the dark and in the day.
