Monday
Most people need encouragement.
Monday Thoughts
When I was little, my granny would delight in saying,
"I scream. You scream.
We all scream for ice cream."
Today I want to say to those reading this page,
"I scream. You scream.
We all scream for
encouragement at some time in our life."
When someone needs encouragement
and doesn't find it,
bad things tend to happen.
As an expert in DISC personality styles,
I can tell you that the "D" personality style
is the personality style that needs encouragement the least.
"Ds" are the outgoing, task-oriented people who love to lead and get things done.
"Ds" think that giving encouragement
makes people lazy.
But the truth is just the opposite!
The problem is that they do not understand
that "Ds" are about 10% of the population
and the rest of us often need encouragement or we feel like quitting.
The personality style that needs encouragement the most
is the "I" style.
They are outgoing and people-oriented.
They are creative and fun-loving.
They need lots of approval and recognition.
Without encouragement the "Is" will get little done.
Young "I" children often have discipline problems
because of a lack of encouragement.
"So encourage each other and build each other up,
just as you are already doing."
1 Thessalonians 5:11

Communicating encouragement
is a worthy goal.
We all need encouragement at some time.
Some of us need it a lot.
It is important to teach our children
to
GIVE
encouragement.
We need to tell children and teens
that the
encouragement
they give to someone
may be the very thing that
changes a person's whole life.
Nick (see the man below)
once was going to go home from school
and
kill himself.
But one person, said something nice to him,
and that made him want to keep on living.
Let's all try to be
that person to others.

Consider helping your
children or grandchildren
to create
a simple book
illustrating ways to encourage people.
Wednesday
Sometimes we have to encourage
ourselves.
~
When I feel down and need encouragement,
I often listen to the following song.
Thursday
Encouragement from Bethany
Bethany draws her Encouragement from God
Friday
Life is full of ups and downs.
Good choices are important.
We need to "Get up" instead of "Give up."
Once you give up, there is no hope.
Let's receive some
