Inspiration for Spiritual Growth

Steadiness in Following Jesus

Monday 

You will be

transformed by God

or

you will be

conformed to the world.

Then Jesus said to

his disciples,

“All who want to follow me

must say

no

to themselves,

take up their cross,

and follow me.“

 Matthew 16:24 

The Gospel message of God

is in
opposition
to
what the
world
pressures us to do.

The Gospel message

of

sincere repentance and obeying God's Word

is in 

opposition

to a sinful way of life.

The Gospel is offensive to our sinful nature.

-

God teaches us

to make godly choices. 

The Word of God says,

Do you not know

that

friendship

with the world

is

hostility toward God?

Therefore

whoever wants to be a

friend of the world

makes himself an enemy of God.

James 4:4 b NASB

You cannot follow Jesus and the culture at the same time.

The Battle is in our Heart.

We are to work to defeat sin in OUR Life.

James 4:7
says,

Submit to God.
Resist the devil.
And he will flee from you.

James 4:7 - The Bible Verse of Champions

For every child of God
defeats
this evil world,
and we achieve this victory through our faith.

1 John 5:4 NLT   

Jesus said,

"If you love me you will obey me."

John 14:15 and again in verse 23

Love for Jesus

compels us

to 

obey

Jesus.

God is -

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Tuesday

We yield to God

or

we yield to the world.

And...

We resist God,

or

we resist the world.

What are you doing?

And

What are your loved ones doing?

If you have gotten right with God,

then the next thing is to

start praying 

for all your loved ones to be right.

God's way

is the

Best way

Disclaimer:

I do not know anything about this church or this pastor.

I've watched churches over the last few decades.

More and more

churches

have stopped teaching

about sin

and the destruction it brings to people.

They teach messages

that will harmonize with the world.

Churches are becoming lukewarm.

Big churches and small churches are becoming 

lukewarm.

In Revelation 3:16,

Jesus spoke to the churches

about being lukewarm.

If your church is not teaching about

sin,

this is your wake - up call to find one that does.

-

We Christians should show the world 

that we have the

Power of God

to change our lives

from...

continually falling into sin

to

practicing righteousness.

We keep practicing

so that

we become more and more 

like

Jesus Christ.

We Christians

will never make an

eternal difference

in the

lives of others

if

we

are not different.

Each day,

we choose to

model Jesus Christ -

or we choose not to.

Thursday

Indeed,

all who desire to live a godly life

in Christ Jesus

will be persecuted,

2 Timothy 3:12

The World will Persecute us.

We will see more and more

Persecution

as the world embraces more and more

wickedness.

The Bible says,

For it is better

to suffer for doing good,

if that should be God's will,

than for doing wrong.

1 Peter 3:17

God tells us that we

come to him as a living stone,

rejected by men

but

chosen by God and precious.

1 Peter 2:4 NKJV

Do all things

without complaining and disputing,

that you may

become blameless and harmless,

children of God

without fault

in the midst of a

crooked and perverse generation,

among whom

you shine as lights in the world,

Philippians 2:14-15 NKJV

Prayer for Yielding

Glorious Lord, Mighty God,

I worship you.

You are my King.

You are my everything.

I give my life to you.

Reign in me.

In my happy times, you are my joy.

In my unhappy times, you are my strength.

I will yield to you so you can reign in me.
