Beware of the New Jesus
A new Jesus
is slipping into our churches.
___
The real Jesus doesn’t change.
His standards don’t change.
His commandments against sin don't change.
The New Jesus
Many people in the world (and some in the church) are promoting a Jesus who never lived on earth.
The new Jesus is a false Jesus.
The new Jesus
changes with the times.
The new Jesus has changed his opinion about certain sins.
The new Jesus is tolerant toward sin.
The new Jesus says:
“I love you, and you can live any
way you want and
still go to heaven.”
But the Bible says no.... For example - Acts 3:26
And
the
Words of the real Jesus
clearly show us that is not true. - Matt. 7:22
Acts 3:26 NLT says,
" When God raised up his servant, Jesus,
he sent him
first
to you people of Israel,
to bless you
by
turning each of you back from your sinful ways.”
Jesus clearly tells us in Matthew below
about the horrible future
of many people
that we know and love.
Jesus said:
Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,'
shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who
does
the will of My father in heaven.
Many will say to Me in that day
'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name,
cast out demons in Your name,
and done many wonders in Your name?'
And then I will declare to them,
'I never knew you;
depart from Me you who practice lawlessness!"
Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV
Definition of
Lawless
Not governed by - or obedient to - the rules and laws of God
Jesus said in verse 22:
"Depart from Me you who practice lawlessness."
Jesus is telling us:
Those who have accepted
Him as their Lord,
will not
practice lawlessness.
Jesus is telling us:
A person who loves God will sin sometimes
but that person is still dedicated
to being obedient to God.
A person
who loves God
will not practice lawlessness.
How do you know
if
you are Going to Heaven?
The little book of 1 John
near the end of the Bible
answers that question.
1 John 2:3-6 says -
3 And how
can we be sure that we belong to him?
By looking
within ourselves:
Are we really trying to do what he wants us to?
4 Someone may say,
“I am a Christian;
I am on my way to heaven;
I belong to Christ.”
But...
if he doesn’t do what Christ tells him to, he is a liar.
5 But those who do what Christ tells them
to will learn to love God more and more.
That is the way to know whether or not
you are a Christian.
6 Anyone who says he is a Christian
should live as Christ did.
The above verse,
is talking about a person who is
trying
to obey God.
The verse is NOT talking about the need to be
a perfect person.
~
Jesus said
in Matthew 14:23 says,
"If you love me, you will obey me."
Jesus is calling people to repent.
Jesus came to earth
to
call people
to
repentance
and Jesus came to be the offering for sin.

The new Jesus says:
“You don’t have to try to obey
the words in the Bible.”
The new Jesus
says:
“I need to be your Savior,
but... you don’t have
to make me your Lord.”
~ ~ ~
The new Jesus says:
“Wide is the way to heaven.
Most people go to heaven.”
But
Jesus says
in Matthew 7:14:
Narrow is the way to heaven
and few find it.
God tells us that
The road to heaven is NARROW.
The road to Hell is WIDE.
In Luke it says:
Then one said to Him [Jesus],
"Lord, are there few who are saved?"
And He [Jesus] said to them,
"Strive to enter through the narrow gate,
for many, I say to you,
will seek to enter and will not be able."
Luke 13:23-24 NKJV
If Jesus is telling us the truth,
then many people that we love
are in deep trouble.
2 Timothy 2:19 says...
“A person
who
calls himself a Christian
should not be doing things that are wrong.”
The new Jesus wants us to be
tolerant toward sin.
The new Jesus says
being tolerant toward sin is called love.
___
The REAL Jesus never taught tolerance,
instead he taught real love.
Real love speaks the truth of the Bible.
Real Love speaks the truth
while always honoring the one we are talking to.
Love never makes a person
feel small and insignificant.
Jesus told us to TEACH the things he taught us.
We cannot do that
if we practice tolerance.
Jesus said,
"Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations,
baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, and then
teach these new disciples
to obey all the commands
I have given you..."
Matthew 28:19-20 TLB
Christians today are being lead astray
by
preaching
which winks at sin and worldliness.
"Winking at sin
leads to sorrow.
Bold reproof leads to peace."
Proverbs 10:10 TLB
"Do not love the world
or
the things in the world.
If anyone loves the world,
the love of the Father is not in him."
1 John 2:15
Something to think about...
Many church leaders are becoming "enlightened"
and deciding to follow the new Jesus.
They are falling into the trap of the devil.
~ ~ ~
I have a seminary degree.
I've lived a long time.
I have only recently heard people preach and teach on the
New Jesus.
Beware
People who follow the new Jesus
will one day die
and realize
that the new Jesus
could not save them from suffering in hell.
The Bible teaches us to be like the Bereans
in Acts 17:11.
Each of us need to imitate the Bereans.
The Bereans took everything Paul said
and checked it against the Old Testament scriptures.
And
We are to check with the Bible before
accepting what someone tells us.
We are to follow the Bible - not follow our beloved pastor or our friends or our family members.
~ ~ ~
We are to be the light that speaks the truth,
even if everyone else refuses to listen.
Noah and his family - eight people - got on the ark.
Theologians believe there was well over
a million people on the earth at that time.
We must live for Jesus and
get in the ark of the Lord
even if no one follows.
"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus
shall suffer persecution."
2 Timothy 3:12 KJV
There are a growing number of people who
call themselves "Christians" but are not.
These people
actually believe one or more of the following:
The following are FALSE statements
“There are many different ways to heaven.”
“All gods are really the same.
There is only one God, but he goes by many
names and
is worshipped by many religions.”
“You don’t have to take the name ‘Christian’ to follow Jesus.
You can stay
in your religion and practice its tenets.”
“Everyone who says “Jesus is Lord” is my Christian brother or sister
regardless of who that person actually thinks
God the Father and Jesus are."
For example:
Mormons say that God the Father was once a man on another planet, and Mormons still call themselves Christians.

"You
must say 'Jesus is Lord' but besides that, it doesn't matter what you believe about
Jesus.
You can believe that Jesus isn't God's son and part of the trinity."
“God would never send anyone to hell”
“Only really bad people go to hell.”
Note that
Many churches are now
becoming more concerned
about saving the environment
than they are about
saving souls.
Beware of the New Jesus.
The real Jesus doesn’t change.
His standards don’t change.
Jesus won’t change to accommodate you.
Jesus won’t change to enable you to go to heaven.

One Final Thought:
The New Jesus takes the
beauty of purity
out of the Gospel.
