This Prayer
was recently posted
in our February 2019 newsletter:
Father God,
We come before you today to ask you to bless our church.
We lift up our church and all the churches around the world.
We pray specifically for our church services this weekend.
We ask, that this weekend, you would do AMAZING things in our church and in churches around the world.
We pray that you would strongly guide pastors so that they can give us your "Now" words. We need your fresh manna.
Get our pastors so focused on you and so passionate about you that they fall to their knees - at least figuratively.
Give their words such power that there is an awe-inspiring hush in our sanctuaries as we listen to our pastors.
Change lives this weekend in all the services around the world.
Refocus our attention. Wake us up in the areas that we are becoming spiritually drowsy. Alert us to ways that we are becoming distracted from you. Bring needed conviction.
Bring encouragement to those who are barely hanging on.
Bring renewed strength to those who are in great battles.
Bring answers to those who are crying out with difficult questions.
Pour your healing balm all through each congregation.
May we be refreshed and may we be inspired - this weekend.
And bless those who are serving during the service. We pray for those who are taking care of our children. May they be inspired even as they change diapers and hold fussy babies.
Touch each one in our churches this weekend. May they be stunned at how you are becoming so real to them in this new year.
We pray bold prayers, Lord.
You told us to come boldly to your throne.*
We come now.
We pray for you to - act.
And we ask you to act NOW.
We pray in the name of Jesus and
with love and devotion,
Amen.

* Come Boldly - Hebrews 4:16
O Lord, I am calling to you. Please hurry!
Listen when I cry to you for help!
Psalm 141:1 TLB

The first thing David does in Psalm 141
is model for us
that it is O.K.
to
come to God in prayer asking for help
AND
respectfully
asking him to hurry!
Hurry!
David also says in Psalm 70:
Rescue me, O God!
Lord, hurry to my aid!
Psalm 70:1 TLB

A Motivating and Energizing
Prayer for our Churches
Dear Lord,
Our churches desperately need you.
Our churches need to be more like you.
We need to be more Loving, more Powerful, more Energized, and more Amazing.
We serve an
Amazing God
and we should reflect that
in our church and in our daily lives.
Give us a hunger for more closeness with you.
Give us a hunger for prayer and for reading your word.
Give us zeal for you and for spreading your Word.
Stir us, Lord, and remind us to yield to your stirring.
Motivate us, Lord, and remind us to be activated by that motivation.
We pray these things in Jesus' name,
Amen!

The Next Prayer is:
Praying for church members
who are having great difficulties
or
for churches
who are going through great difficulties.
-
We encourage you
to put in the prayer
the name or names of specific people
that you want God to help
in place of the word "us"
in the prayer.
Lord of Compassion and Mercy,
We fall before you to praise you, to worship you, and to seek your help.
You are the answer to every trial, every tribulation, and every difficulty. We come to your throne to call out for your help.
God show us (or put a specific name) your goodness - show us your strength - show us your help - show us your saving power - show us your rescuing power - show us your deliverance - show us the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Bring us through
all the things that are attacking us and blocking us.
Bring us through all the things that are slowing us down and hindering us from walking in your perfect will and plan.
Bring us through all these things
and
shine on us the light of your miraculous blessings.
We will remember to give you praise for your goodness.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
