Prayer for handling sudden death
Prayer to pray
for a grieving family member or friend.
In some instances,
you can send this prayer to a grieving person
IF
you know that person seeks God during tragedies.
The Prayer
below is written
for a female friend.
Please adapt to your situation.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I am at a loss for words as I think about this terrible news.
Lord, I don’t know what to say, but I know that you are the God of all comfort.
You understand my friend's great pain and the pain of the family.
You know what my friend needs in order to get through this day.
Give
my friend
strength and help
to get through
this day
and
this
agonizing season of pain.
May she find a place of emotional shelter in this storm where she can grieve this enormous loss.
And Lord I also ask for these same requests on behalf of this suffering family.... and all the grieving friends.
What a huge loss.
There is such pain being felt today.
Guide me as I seek to extend comfort and support to my friend.
I pray these things in Jesus’ name,
Amen
