Introductory Prayer

Lord,

as I come to this page,

bring to my mind

those you want me to pray for. 

As I go through this page,

increase my understanding of

how to pray for my loved ones who are

captive to

specific past events

and also

past

childhood daily abusive situations.

Thank you for your guidance.

The following prayer is written for a man.

It is re-written for a woman

Lord of Healing Mercies,

I lift up _______ to you in prayer.

I pray that you would

touch him in

Powerful ways this day.

Break the bonds that have held him captive.

Release him from the things
that are holding him back.

Guide him out of dark shadows
and into the
fullness of the joys of the Son.

(Meaning the Son of God - Jesus)

Enable him to smile the smile of

exuberant joy

and the smile of

total release of captivity.

In Jesus' name I pray,

Loving Lord,

I pray for _________.

He is your beloved child.

He is like a beautiful flower bud

that never opened.

The spring came and the bud didn't open.

The summer came and the bud never opened.

Year after year,

the bud

didn't open. 

All the joys of an open bud

including

all the feelings of freedom and acceptance,

and

all the joys of

fully feeling the warmth of the sun on the petals

have never happened.

(Sun also relates to - Son of God - Jesus) 

The pain of his abuse has been limiting him.

The joys of feeling safe and protected

have been hindered.

The joys of feeling acceptance

and belonging

and being valued -

have never been fully felt.

Lord, come against all the hindrances

that are stopping his blessings.

Rescue him

from the plans and strategies

of the enemy of our soul.

Smooth the path before him.

Guide his steps into your arms. 

I pray these things,

in the 

Miraculous Name

of 

Jesus.

so that he develops a hunger for you

Mentor,

Daddy more wonderful than any earthly daddy.

She is your precious little girl.

Enable her to accept that fact and soak
in and savor
the enjoyment of the love you have for her.

to enjoy you and be satisfied in you

as their portion.

May they be so filled up

with your love and acceptance

that the actions of people

are less important in their eyes.
