Bethel church talks about false prophecy! (They are false prophets) https://youtu.be/a8yxPgWWfHI
Comments from below the video
REEEEEEEEEEEEE check this and comment on it............
16:03 Why do you seem to stumble in repetition when trying to define prophecy when the Bible has already given us its essential definition: “Edification, Exhortation, and Comfort”... ... Consult 1Corinthians 14:3 for the definition of prophecy, please!
The reason Paul said to judge prophecy that was given is because their were false prophets that came in to deceive people….he was constantly warning them about false prophets.
Here’s some problems: the role of prophet never changed The New Testament states that a man will repent when the secrets of his heart are disclosed, his secret sins But no one can tell you these things because you have so built your position so as to be impervious to rebuke and sound doctrine. You also can’t build doctrine off of one verse. Just saying the ministry of reconciliation means you can’t call out sin is a super stretch. But who cares about this comment right?
You guys moving the goal post. The only way to judge a Prophet is this... does he prophesy right or false. Simple. That's it. God doesn't lower His standard because of the old or the new Testament. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. You can have a great character but be a false Prophet. You can have a thriving Church but be false teacher. Also the scripture about prophesying in part doesn't say prophesying falsely, it means that God doesn't give you the whole picture but He still requires that you prophecy that part accurately. Your conversation is filled, sad to say with a lot of excuses. A false Prophet speaks falsely. With your comments you just added more self-appointed YouTube prophets, you lowered the standard. By the way consider the love and severity of God which keeps you in the Fear of God. True PROPHETS give you the whole counsel of God. God warned very sternly NOT to add to His Words. The reason why the prophetic movement has such a bad reputation and lacks credibility is because of false prophesies and missing major world events that happened. The grace of God here it is .......For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, Titus 2:11-12 NKJV The true PROPHETS need to walk and act under the true grace of God. Denying ungodliness, prophesying righteously, NOT falsely. My God, why is this so hard to understand because you making excuses for yourself.
So the guy who got his Trump Prophecy wrong is teaching that Prophecy is different from the Old Testament I guess God didn't get the memo that when the New Covenant happens He needs to change the standard. Malachi 3:6 6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Wow, so many misinterpretations of Scripture and systematized illogical to build this heretical theology of word of faith and justify the thousands of false prophecies spewing forth from these people, all "in Jesus's name." It's absolutely sickening.
Damage that has been done by false prophets and the "If you are sick and not healed it's your fault" teaching that comes from Redding is far and wide, shame there is no accountability.
When, is scripture did the all powerful God speak and someone misunderstood or questioned what He said. Answer: Never These men are being presumption speaking their own thoughts
Simply put: a wrong prophesy is a false prophesy. A person that gives a prophesy is taking on the role of prophet. A person that gives a wrong prophesy is a wrong prophet. A wrong prophet that gives a wrong prophesy is is false prophet. Kris Vollotton has given a few known wrong/false prophesies (wrong about COVID and wrong about Trump), so when you put it all together, Kris Vollotton is a false prophet. To not regard him as a false prophet means to disregard scripture completely. He is not qualified for ministry and needs to step down. If you defend him then you ignore scripture and you are in rebellion to scriptures warning against false prophets.
n their explanation of “prophecy” they give an excuse for “false prophecy”, they said at around 19:44, “no one hears perfectly”, meaning, no one that is a believer that is prophesying will get it right 100% of the time because no one hears the Holy Spirit speaking perfectly. So they may misunderstand what is being said and prophesy the wrong thing. What this does is introduce doubt about everything written in the Bible. If the New Testament is inspired by the Holy Spirit, written by believers inspired by the Holy Spirit, then it’s possible they wrote something not quite right, because “no one hears perfectly.” Now if they deny this, then their statement is wrong and actually people can hear perfectly. Either way they are wrong in what they are saying. God is not ambiguous when He speaks to His people. I haven’t even touched on the fact that not everyone that is a believer is supposed to prophesy. It is actually written in the Bible that only some prophesy. Paul asked a list of rhetorical questions in which the answer was “no”, in first Corinthians. One of those questions was: “Do all prophesy?” No. Any teaching that says everyone should be operating in all the spiritual gifts is ignoring the scriptures. In the same book of corinthians, Paul says that each believer is given “a” gift as the Holy Spirit sees fit. And it is not for that person but for the building up of the church. Can you have more than one gift? Yes. If the Holy Spirit sees fit to give more than one.
If a prophet says something which ends up being untrue, they've uttered an untrue statement and thus are a false prophet. This isn't a statement that becomes untrue in the new testament. That makes no sense. And maybe they believe they can get it wrong? But there is so much room for damage and the consequences are nil for this church. They apologize and move on. They're putting people at risk and confusing the people of God.
1
I should distinguish too. False prophets and teachers aren't the same, but one can be both. A false prophet utters words they believe to be from God but are of Satan or their own mind. A false teac
Examples:her is a preacher, teaching unsound doctrine that undermines the foundations of faith.
Examples of false teaching . "The atonement, by teaching that Jesus dying to forgive sins is a sidenote. The REAL reason was to give us power and make us like God." Now people are coming to faith because of lust of the flesh, not forgiveness of sin.
There are some scriptures in the Old Testament I specifically talk about false prophecy that affects both the Old and New Covenants first of all the one in Deuteronomy 13 when the word of the false prophets come to pass you'll recognize them when they want you to go worship other gods and then it says God is testing you Jeremiah 23 is a very easy one for me to fall find false prophets Jeremiah 23:22 but if they had stood in my Council and had caused my people to turn from their evil ways and from the evil of their doings and Jeremiah 23:29 is not my word as a fire saith the Lord and like a hammer that taketh the rock into pieces? Fire cleanses and purges and the hammer that breaks the frog is breaking bondage has the word of God that comes both from the prophet and out of the mouths of anybody and even the Bible will cleanse asperges friend break bondages That is how to spot a false prophet is that they will turn you from other gods and they will not repent of their sins and turn from their Wicked Ways and they will not cause the people to do so Also in Isaiah 8:20 to the law and to the Testimony ,if they speak not according to this word, it is because their is no light in them. The scripture is talking about the law is the word of God and keep his Commandments and the testimony is a testimony of Jesus Christ in Revelations 12:17 Matthew 22:37 don't show love the Lord my God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind Matthew 22:38 and the second is like unto it ,though shall love thy neighbor as thyself Matthew 22:40 on these two commandments hang the law and the prophets If you notice it says these two scriptures handle on the prophets they fulfill them you cannot obey all the Ten Commandments without first doing the two greatest Commandments the first four Commandments of the Ten Commandments fulfill the greatest commandment the last six fulfilled the second greatest Commandments because love never hurts anybody and God is love but if we do not obey the Commandments then we do not show we fear God nor do we show that we love God there is no such thing as an old-time prophet and a new Prophet they're all the same it's all one book to believe otherwise is deception you need the Holy Spirit to understand the word of God and if you do not have understanding you will not have the power of God which is God in you which is the Holy Spirit Sardis in Revelation 21:3 also had no understanding Job 28:28 says understanding is to depart from evil And Proverbs 21:16 the man that wandereth away from understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. If you're in the congregation of the Dead then you do not have the Holy Spirit if you do not have the Holy Spirit than you will not make it to heaven I hope you really really sick the Lord on this because you're wrong and you really need to repent I'll keep you guys in prayer
Matthew 7:15, Jesus says "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves." It is dangerous, friend. Not merely criticism and sneering. But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.' And if you say in your heart, 'How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?'— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:20-22 ESV This man has taught against this passage in order to protect himself. False progress tend to make for themselves safety nets. Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. I coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel. You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me. In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Acts 20:28-30, 33-35 ESV
where in the bible does it say a new testament prophet from an old testament prophet ??? How is a spirit filled Prophet less accurate then a pre-cross prophet ???
You’ve been prophesying for so long why don’t you show us documented proof of your prophecies fulfilled. Oh yeah that’s because all your prophesies have been wrong. Bethel has the worst track record of prophecies not being fulfilled.
How come so many of these supposed Christian prophets were wrong about Donald Trump's 2nd term? Prophet or profit?
Below - talking about false doctrines.
2 Peter 3:5-6
https://scriptoriumdaily.com/how-did-jesus-argue-jesus-logic/
Today there is widespread indifference to, even downright hostility towards logic and the fundamental laws that govern it. We are sometimes told that logic is a Western construction invented by DWEM’s (Dead White European Males such as Aristotle), that in a postmodern world, story and narrative have replaced a cold-hearted, logical approach to life, and that Jesus was a prophet for the common man, not a logician for the “wise and intelligent.”
Ends with
I could not disagree more. Logic comes from the very nature of God Himself, its employment need not be cold and impersonal, it can be expressed through story and narrative as C. S. Lewis’s works of fiction nicely illustrate, and Jesus used logic with “the common man” every bit as much as he did with the “wise and intelligent.” In what follows, I shall unpack these assertions by doing two things: present a primer on logic and God, and explain and illustrate Jesus’ skill in using logic.
To my mind, Jesus was the greatest thinker who ever lived. And while he did not come to develop a theory about logic or to teach logic as a field of study, it is clear that he was adept at employing logical forms and laws in his thinking and reasoning. We who are his followers should go and do likewise.
2 Timothy 4:2-4
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Bill,
There is nothing in the Bible called a Superior Truth.
Also see our Prophets page.
true Prophet, lives an afflicted and persecuted life, and has the Numbers 12:6 experience. They have the Holy Spirit Baptism, and God answers their prayers and directs them through scripture, dreams, and visions. Not all Prophets are speaking Prophets. Why are you to fear a true Prophet? Because their prayers are answered and their judgments are answered also. True Prophets are preachers of Righteousness. They live sanctified lives. A true Prophet has Holy Spirit revelation, and it written on the page. While the Bible lays down the guidelines, God does what he wants. And since most of church doesn’t believe the Baptism, they have already blasphemed the Spirit. All the Prophecies of God have been written. Any Prophets come now to enforce the Cross, whether it results in what man sees as good, or destruction to drive the heathen to the Cross. The days are dark. Arise and let your light shine. This is a weak teaching. Read the Bible.

Prophets and Teachers are offering
Excitement!
Hidden Knowledge!
Amazing Supernatural Experiences!
Friendly, polite, funny, entertaining people -
who sound knowledgeable....
but are they doing things
forbidden by God?
God tells us to test the prophets and teachers.
This page will help you test them.
God tells us to beware of false prophets
and false teachers.
Matthew 24:11 NKJV says,
"Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many."
2 Peter 2:1 a NKJV says,
But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you,
who will secretly bring in destructive heresies.
Most new prophets have
- without God's permission -
changed the definition of
"Prophet."
New Prophets have changed the
Old and New Testament definition of
"a prophet" - saying a prophet
smust not do any correction or say negative things.

Prophets and Apostles

Revelation 2:2
Jesus complimented the church members of Ephesus by saying...

Jesus says
we are to TEST those in the church

From the link above
The Encyclopedia of New Age Beliefs, published by Harvest House Christian publishers, specifically describes God Calling as a channeled New Age book. In their lengthy chapter on channeling and spiritual dictation, authors/apologists John Weldon and John Ankerberg explain that channeling is a form of New Age “mediumship” and according to the Bible it “is a practice forbidden (Deuteronomy 18:9-12).”4 Under the subheading titled “Impersonations of Christianity,” the authors describe God Calling as a New Age book “replete with denials of biblical teaching”5 as it “subtly encourages psychic development and spiritistic inspiration under the guise of Christ’s personal guidance . . . and often misinterprets Scripture.”6 Yet Sarah Young wrote that it was God Calling that inspired her to receive her own messages from “Jesus.” In her original introduction to Jesus Calling, Young praised God Calling as “a treasure to me”:
The above video talks about the book "Jesus Calling", A Course in Miracles,
I am going to name some false prophets.
But first, I remind you that
Paul modeled for us to call others out
who call themselves Christians yet they are in error.
See the box below.
Paul taught us
that is good to call people out
when there is doctrinal error or sin involved.
Here are 2 examples...
In Galatians 2 starting in verse 11 - Paul publicly judges Peter's error.
Philippians 4:2-3
Here is a good article on this topic
https://www.christiantoday.com/article/why-did-paul-confront-peter-and-what-can-we-learn-from-it/122461.htm
Paul also called out 2 women publicly in Philippians 4:2-3.
Please read our "Judge Not" page if you are having a problem with this section.
Bill Johnson of Bethel Church is a major leaders of the new prophetic movement.
Bill Johnson.
says that Christians should explore the New Age and its practices.
BUT God calls New Age practices evil.
In the Old Testament they killed prophets for making false prophecies and for practicing occult practices.
Bill says it is now ok.
God did not say it is ok - just the opposite.
Next, I want to show you
an example of
Bill Johnson explaining what being a prophet looks like.
Bill said........... he had a group of people sit in a circle. He said to them that we are going around the room and I want each of you tell me what you think Jesus would say to us today. After everyone had spoken, Bill joyfully announced, "We have just prophesied for the Lord!" .......... Beth says - No, they gave their opinions!!! This is the kind of ridiculous exercises and ideas that these men are foisting on an unsuspecting world.
And I remind you that accuracy in their art of prophecy is of no interest to these "prophets."
They create excitement with their stories and then they tempt people by saying, "I can teach YOU how to do what I do." ........ And these people get rich from this!!
Graham Cooke
has written "how to" books on prophecy
and many of his books and materials
are used in churches for courses to teach people
on "how to " be prophetic.
Below is a 10 minute video of Cooke talking about
what is important to him.
Some things
Graham Cooke says in the video
are true and some are totally false.
Graham is mixing
truth and error.
See if you can spot some of the error.
Below the video,
I will respond to the video
with specifics including Scripture.
Beth -
I do not like the first 5 minutes of this video
but I am going to skip to the 5 minute mark
to point out some major errors.
Go to the 5 minute mark.
Graham is asked, "How do you decipher between your imagination and God's voice or prophetic wisdom?
Graham answers, "I don't."
HUGE RED FLAG
So when Graham hears words in his head, he does not try to distinguish between his thoughts and God's voice.
And when he hears a prophetic word of wisdom, he does not try to distinguish to make sure the word is from God instead of from that prophet's own imagination.
(I remind you that this is a man who writes books to educate people on the prophetic gift found in the Bible.)
Next
Quoting Graham,
"Imagination is more important than knowledge or reason."
God does not agree.
2 Corinthians 10:5 "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."
Graham is trying to get people to think that God mainly operates in and through imagination.
There is no Scriptures that say that God raises imagination above his Word or reasoning, or knowledge or logic.
PLEASE stop right now and read Proverbs 1:1-7.
Then evaluate what he is saying against THE BIBLE.
Graham said,
"Wisdom is more attuned to intuitiveness and imagination than it is to logic and reason."
(If that were true, then God would not have had to write the book of Proverbs....)
Graham said,
"If I am going to avoid anything, I am going to avoid logic and reason because faith doesn't live there."
Beth says - I remind you that Romans 10:17 says, "Faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God." but Graham is saying that faith comes by imagination.
Graham said,
"Logic and reason talk you out of faith."
Beth says - No, God commands us to meditate on his Bible words to grow our faith instead of going after our imagination and supernatural experiences to grow our faith.
Graham says some things that are true and some that are false.
He uses humor to lower the audiences' guard rails and more easily get them to accept his teaching.
Graham says, "I look at the Bible and I don't see a shred of logic in it."
Graham says,
"Faith has more fellowship, more in common, with imagination than it ever can with logic."
He says, "Logic will talk you out of something and imagination will talk you into it."
Beth says, He is using that last sentence to convince people of his advice.
And - Yes he is correct in some circumstances,
BUT - the Opposite of what he said is ALSO true....
see below
Beth says...
If he were sitting with me here –
I would say,
"You are negative about logic because you say it talks you out of things. But logic is important. It can talk us out of doing sinful things. The whole book of Proverbs is given to us to present wisdom and logic so that we are protected from sinful things.
Then I would say,
"You are totally sold on imagination because imagination can talk us into things - and you seem to indicate those things would always be positive things.
But imagination can be very bad for us. Imagination can get us so excited that we swallow false teaching and run away from the Bible and accept all kinds of ungodly things."
The Interviewer
The interviewer then helps the audience to swallow all of this false teaching by saying "That was a pretty good answer wasn't it." They clap.
Whether they know it or not, this technique helps seal the audience's mind to accept the false teaching and not question it.
Consciously or unconsciously, Graham and the interviewer are using techniques of persuasion to convince people to not question what Graham is teaching. But Paul in the Bible tells us to question.
The entire book of Proverbs is about gaining wisdom and knowledge!!! One of my favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 3:21i n the old Living Bible "Wisdom is knowing and doing right."
God's word tells us that our imagination can get us into trouble. For example, in Noah's time, Genesis 6:5 tells us that their imaginations were drawing them toward evil - and the Bible says the end times will be like Noah's time.
2 Timothy 4:2-4
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
The reason Graham has risen to fame is because pastors and leaders do not research people before they promote them. God is not pleased. Fruit is not enough. The Bible says that in the last days people will run after teachers who perform miracles.
SADLY, most leaders in the church do not do the kind of research I do and apparently they have some large holes in their discernment.
his page will give you the information you need to make informed decisions.
Many people are running after prophets and teachers who promise the secrets of God.
Many people are running after prophets and teachers
who promise exciting supernatural experiences.
Some of the prophets and teachers are dangling help with decisions, increased health and increased finances in front of their eyes of their audience.
Current prophets offer some or all these things.
In Matthew 24, When Jesus was
She pointed this out in her own words with her own emphasis.....
In Matthew 24 when the disciples asked Jesus, "What will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age?" Jesus answered, "Deception"
Matthew 24:3-4 below
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.
