Just look for the blue boxes like the one below.
M o n d a y
Blessed be the Lord my Rock,
Who trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle.
NKJV
I chose NKJV for verse 1 because of the word "training."
YES, God, thank you for training me for
VICTORY!
Blessed be the Lord my Rock!
Psalm 144:1 a
In this verse, God is training us to
PRAISE Him!
Let's highlight some
Victory Strategies!

# 1
Praise
We get Praise training from God
in verse 1 and next in verse 2.
Verse 2....
Lord, you are ...
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and
my deliverer; my shield,
and he in whom I trust;
who subdueth my people under me.
KJV
-
God's destiny for his people
is for them to realize
that there is POWER in Praise!
Will you join me in more Praise?
Here are
Praise Proclamations

-
We just praised God in Words.
Now let's add Music
and
praise God in song.

- Humility -
Walking in Greater Humility
produces
Greater Strength & Power in us.
Let's look at Verse 3 for some
Humility training.
In verses 3-4,
we are given Powerful words of
Humility to speak out!
3 Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him!
or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!
4 Man is like to vanity:
his days are as a shadow that passeth away.
Acts 17:24 says...
For in him we live, and move, and have our being
Prayer & Praise
inspired by Psalm 144:3-4 ...
Lord,
You are our Everything.
We are nothing without you.
You are Everything to us... Everything!
You are everything to us, and we will give you PRAISE!
Amen

- Prayer -
Prayer for our present difficulties
Let's look at Verses 5-8 for some
Prayer training.
In these verses,
we are reminded that
nothing is impossible with God.
Hebrews 4:16 tells us to
"Come boldly to God's throne of Grace."
We need to
ASK for help.
We need to ASK for Miracles!
5 Bow thy heavens, O Lord, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
6 Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.
7 Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
8 Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
-
This Psalm of David is guiding us to
pray about our situation.
In verses 5-8,
God is teaching us to call on him
to do
Mighty things and Powerful things!
God is teaching us to ask him for
Miracles!
We need small miracles, and we need big miracles.

- Pliable -
When we become more Pliable in God's hands,
we become more Powerful.
Let's look at Verse 9 for some
Pliable training.
In this verse,
we are encouraged to be moldable
in the hands of our
Heavenly Potter.
Becoming pliable helps to more easily submit to God
and become more mature in Christ.
9 I will sing a new song unto thee, O God:
upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings
will I sing praises unto thee.
-
God wants to hear us sing - NEW songs!
This verse emphasizes the word
NEW.
We need to be open to NEW things in our life.
As we walk with God, let's be:
Pliable in God's hands instead of Stubborn.
Open to new songs and new insights instead of Closed.
Teachable instead of Resistant.
Growing instead of Stagnant.
New
We need new nourishment from God's Word.
When we choose to regularly read the Word of God,
we gain new insights, new encouragement,
new strength, and new maturity.
We also gain
New Awe, New Admiration, and New Gratitude
for the Lord God Almighty.
In Psalm 1, God tells us that he wants us to be
like a
healthy tree
planted by streams of water
(receiving the water of the word).
Note: Ephesians 5:26
We are washed and we are nourished and we are refreshed by the water of the Word of God.
God wants us open to
singing
NEW songs to him
that have New Words of Praise.
Note:
All through the Bible. we see God
repeating the idea that
His people are singers of praise to their God.

- Faith -
We need to increase our
Faith and Confidence in God and his Word.
Let's look at Verse 10 for some
Faith training.
In this verse,
we are reminded to have
Faith for Today.
God is STILL active.
10 It is he that giveth salvation unto kings:
who delivereth David his servant
from the hurtful sword.
NKJV makes it even easier to see:
Verse 10 NKJV:
The One who gives salvation to kings,
Who delivers David His servant
from the deadly sword.
God gives - not used to give.
God delivers - not used to deliver.
-
I remind you that David is writing this.
David is using present tense to say that
God is STILL working for his (David's) needs.
We increase our Faith as we continually say...
God still does miracles.
God still moves - and he moves in my life!
God still changes things.
God still rescues.
God still brings blessings.
Our Faith is a Today Faith.
It is not a Faith in what God used to do,
but a Faith in what God still will do!
Our Faith needs to Speak.
We need to Speak Faith out-loud..
Speaking Faith creates more confidence in us.
Speaking Faith grows our Faith.
Speaking Scripture out-loud grows our Faith.
Faith cometh by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17
So
Let's Speak Bible Verses!
And
God tells us to
Put on the Armor of God
Ephesians 6:11
CEV version
Put on all the armor that God gives,
so you can
defend yourself
against the devil's tricks.
Ephesians 6:11 CEV version
Some other versions say "Stand firm against"
Let's Read about
The Shield of Faith
Ephesians 6:16
CEV version
Let your faith be
like a shield
and you will be able to stop
all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
A Shield of Faith
Tip...
Each time, we hear in our head
a thought of doubt...
such as
"God is not going to help me"
or
"This is never going to get better"
or
"I can't deal with this situation"
we need to
defend ourself
from that doubt thought.
God tells us in
Ephesians 6:16
that he wants us to
Defend
ourselves by
Raising our
Shield of Faith
and saying
a Powerful Bible Verse such as
Psalm 46:1,
"God is my refuge and strength,
a very present help in times of trouble."
Or
Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
We need to respond to the words
of a fiery doubt dart.
We need to respond by
shutting down its ability to influence us.
All too often, doubt darts take us into a ditch.
Fiery Darts are like Poison.
We need to shut down its poison.
We need to defend ourselves
and
not just let the poison contaminate us.
For Gaining Spiritual Strength,
I encourage you to consider praying

- Repetition -
Understanding Repetition brings blessings.
Let's look at Verse 11 for some
Repetition training.
11 Rid me, and deliver me from the
hand of strange children,
whose mouth speaketh vanity,
and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
-
This verse is basically a repeat of
verses 7 and 8.
There is great value in repetition.
For example
In prayer...
We need to ask God - and keep on asking.
Jesus shares a story about
The Power of
Repetition
in Luke chapter 11.
And He [Jesus] said to them, Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and will say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves [of bread],
6 For a friend of mine who is on a journey has just come, and I have nothing to put before him;
7 And he from within will answer, Do not disturb me; the door is now closed, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and supply you [with anything]?
8 I tell you, although he will not get up and supply him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his shameless persistence and insistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
9 So I [Jesus] say to you,
Ask and keep on asking and
it shall be given you;
seek and keep on seeking and you shall find;
knock and keep on knocking
and the door shall be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened.
AMPC version
Repetition in Prayer
We need to ask -
and keep on asking - in a respectful way.
In the Bible story above,
Jesus tells us to repeat our prayer requests.
That is our prayer assignment.
And...
saying a Bible verse
once
is not
our
Bible verse assignment.
We are to put God's word
continually
in our mouth
and in our thoughts.
Faith and confidence in God
is increased by speaking the Word of God....
not once
but over and over.
-
And
to gain victory over our bad habits and ungodly desires
it takes repetition.
We have to practice new skills.
Becoming less selfish, less angry, less critical,
more patient,
more loving, more longsuffering, etc.
takes practice.
This process of becoming more like Jesus
can be described as,
"Jesus must increase in my life; I must decrease."
Idea based on John 3:30
The words "increase - decrease" indicate
that it is going to
take time to change.
Each time we have a choice,
we either do what Jesus would do
or
we do what we want to do.
As we
repeatedly
- over and over -
do what Jesus would do
we change.
Jesus is a life-transforming name!
For example
in order to increase the
patience and kindness that we show people
in our daily life,
we have to practice using self-control and
intentionally act like Jesus instead of
how we want to act at that moment.

- Prayer -
Prayer for Future Blessings
In verses 5-8 (above)
we saw Prayer for Present Needs
Now
Let's look at Verses 12-14
for some
"future-focused"
Prayer training.
12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
13 That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
14 That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
-
Verse 12 starts with the word "That."
Verses 12-14 are linked to David's thoughts in verse 11. Here he was praying for God to rescue him from a present situation.
Often as we pray for future blessings, we view those future blessings
as tied to
resolution of present problems.
-
It is wise to
not only pray for our present problems
but to visualize and verbalize
the wonderful things that God can do in the future.
For example,
You may be dealing with a teenager
who is running wild and getting in lots of trouble.
If so...
it is important and powerful
to pray about your teen's present situation.
It is also important and powerful
to pray about your teen's future.
I encourage you to...
Picture your teen happily following God.
For example...
Dear Lord,
I pray that you will arrange my child's steps so that my teen will come closer and closer to you.
By Faith, I believe that you are
working things together in my teen's life
so that
he/she is seeing the value of
following you and obeying your word.
I know that you are hearing all my prayers and I know that you are doing mighty things.
I will yield to you and continue to pray.
And I thank you for the day when my child will happily yield to you and let you live through him/her.
In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen

-Rewards -
We are strengthened and encouraged
as we remind ourselves of
the future rewards of following God.
Let's look at verse 15
for some
Reward training.
15 Happy is that people,
that is in such a case:
yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.
-
A related verse...
Psalm 119:2 AMPC
Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied)
are they who keep His testimonies,
and who seek, inquire for and of Him
and crave Him with the whole heart.
The first word in Psalm 144 verse 15
and the first word
in Psalm 119:2
are the same word in Hebrew.
It is Strong's Hebrew # 835 and is defined as
"Blessed or Happy."
The Bible tells us that those
who follow
God
will become happy and blessed.
Blessings.. . .
God blesses us with gifts on earth and in heaven.
See our page on the Rewards in Heaven.
