Problems

Big Problems

Lots of Problems

On this page,

I will do a

narrative

of how to move through

Psalm 3 from

Powerless to POWERFUL!

This page can easily be adapted

to a simple skit

for youth or adults.

See info near the bottom of the page.

Verse 1

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me!

many are they that rise up against me.

All my days are rainy and all my problems are getting bigger.

God,

More and more people are coming against me.

Time after time, someone rises up to hurt or harm me.

Verse 2

2 Many there be which say of my soul,

There is no help for him in God.

Selah.

Those who are against me enjoy mocking me. They speak to me with sarcasm.

Some say, "There is no help for  him/her  in God."

Those words just echo in my mind, and I feel hopeless.

Selah - I pause and think.

Verse 3

3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me;

my glory,

and

the lifter up of mine head.

I begin to think about who God is and what he can do.

As I am thinking about the Power of God, I begin to perk up.

I lift my eyes to heaven.

I remind myself that God is a Shield for me.

God is my glory.

God is the lifter of my head!

Verse 4

4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice,

and he heard me out of his holy hill.

Selah.

I cry out in prayer to God for help. I speak out-loud.

I raise my voice - not because God can't hear a soft voice, but because my situation is pressing hard against me.

Selah - I pause and think.

Then I continue to pray.

I feel better after talking to God.

I feel calmer and more relaxed.

Verse 5

5 I laid me down and slept;

I awaked;

for the Lord sustained me.

Now that I am calmer,

I am able to lie down and sleep.

- - -

I wake up.

I still feel God's calmness.

God refreshed me.

Verse 6

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people,

that have set themselves against me

round about.

As I get up out of bed,

I feel the strength of God rising up in me.

I become Bold as a Lion.

I speak

Bold, POWERFUL

words to myself.

I say, "I will not be afraid - even - if ten thousands of people surround me."

I say, "With God, I am more POWERFUL than anything on earth."

I am brave in actions;

And

I am successful in outcomes!

Verse 7

7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God:

for thou hast smitten all mine enemies

upon the cheek bone;

thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

I begin to praise God

for he is my

VICTORY!

It is God's POWER that defeats my enemies.

I call out to God in Boldness,

"Arise, O Lord and save me!"

I say,

"God, in previous problems,

you came and beat up my enemies.

You whacked them on the cheek bone,

and you broke their teeth."

(Broke their teeth = Took away their ability to hurt me.)

"My enemies became powerless against me.
You saved me then,
and
you will also save me
from my present problems."

I then say:

Today I will choose to stand strong for you, God.

I will stand and wait for your instructions.

You will give me the Victory.

You will tell me if I need to do something to cooperate with you.

I will Boldly Follow You.

Verse 8

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord:

thy blessing is upon thy people.

Selah.

God, ALL POWER comes from you.

ALL VICTORY comes from you.

ALL SALVATION comes from you.

You BLESS your people.

Selah - I pause and think about that.

Thinking about all these things is bringing me:

HOPE, ENCOURAGEMENT, STRENGTH,

and the

ULTIMATE VICTORY!
