A
great video about
Psalm 45
The King and his Bride
From the video above with my additions:
This is a Messianic Psalm because part of it is about Jesus.
We know it is about Jesus because part of it is quoted in Hebrews 1:8-9, and Hebrews says it is about Jesus.
In this psalm, we read about the marriage of an earthly king and his bride. We do not know who the king was.
We also see....
Jesus - the Bridegroom King ... and the church - The Bride of Christ.
Note: Psalm 45:16 refers to the earthly king - not to Jesus.

Is Meekness a Good Thing or a Bad Thing?

Psalm 45:4
is a
Meekness verse.
It says...
" In your majesty
ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and
meekness and righteousness;
let your right hand teach you
awesome deeds! "
The Bible definition of "meek" is the opposite of
weak....
It is
Strength under control.
Jesus is
All POWERFUL.
The Bible says Jesus was meek....
~
In Matthew 11:29 a KJV
Jesus says,
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me:
for I am
meek and lowly in heart."
Jesus obeyed every deed
that Father God
called him to do
no matter what his flesh wanted.
He was never weak.
Let's learn more about
MEEKNESS.
Concerning the video above:
These are the words in the text box of the video...
The world thinks of meekness as weak and timid, but biblically nothing could be further from the truth. Meekness, in God's eyes is tremendous power under control. Those who are meek - willingly seek and submit to God's will, put the needs of others before their own desires, are unpretentious, teachable, calm, and self-controlled. They yield their rights and are never defensive, yet speak up for others in the face of injustice. They rely on the Holy Spirit for the power to speak calmly, act gently, and bow humbly before God.

Psalm 45 talks about
The Bride of Christ.
Topics for Today
are
both
about
The Bride
1. Leave & Cleave (Psalm 45:10)
and
2. Wash with the Water of the Word
In Psalm 45:9 and the verses following,
we see the Bride of Christ.
(I will talk about "leave & cleave" further down the page.)
Ephesians 5:26-27
says the Word of God washes the
Bride of Christ.
Jesus is the Word of God.
The Bride allows the water
of the Word to wash her.
In some respects,
she is viewed as washing herself
with the Word of God.
For example, Isaiah 1:16.
When you
Give your Life
to Jesus
you become the
Bride of Christ.
Men and Women are the Bride of Christ.
Each Bride's "assignment" from God
is to
"cleave" to God
and
allow his Word
to wash
him or her and
to purify
him or her
and
make
him or her
more like Jesus.
The Bride of Christ cleaves to Jesus
just as
an earthly man and woman cleave in marriage.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto his wife:
Genesis 2:24 a KJV
Verses about cleaving to God...
Deuteronomy 10:20 KJV
Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
Deuteronomy 13:4 KJV
Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
Also see Deuteronomy 4:4.
As the Bride of Christ,
our assignment
is to read the Word of God
and
allow it to wash us and make us more like Jesus.
Ephesians 5:25-27 KJV
says,
" Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he [Jesus] might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he [Jesus] might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing;
but that it should be holy and without blemish."
Ephesians 5:26-27
teaches us that the Bible washes us.
When we read the Bible with a teachable heart,
the words
will renew our mind
and
change our incorrect thinking.
We will begin to turn away
from sinful things
and
follow Jesus more closely.
We will see the importance of obeying.
Our interest in the world will fade and our interest
in godly things will increase.
Washing
is
Reading the Word and Obeying It.
Other Washing Verses
Isaiah 1:16 KJV
Wash you, make you clean;
put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil.
Revelation 19:7-8 KJV
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come,
and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed
in fine linen, clean and white:
for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Topics for Today
1. Jesus is God
2. The Trinity
3. Jesus is The Word
# 1
Jesus is God.
In Psalm 45 verse 6,
we read that Jesus IS God.
In verse 7, we see that Jesus is WITH Father God.
Further down the page,
I will present more Bible verses explaining that Jesus IS God.
The Trinity wasn't clear to the Old Testament people.
But for us, we can look back and see it clearly in passages
in the Old Testament.
#2
The Trinity
Psalm 45 is an example of two parts of the Trinity:
Father God and Jesus who is God
Below
are some other Trinity verses.
Genesis 1:26 "Let Us make man in Our image."
Proverbs 30:4b "What is His name, and what is His Son's name, If you know?"
Matthew 3:16 "When He [Jesus] had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him, And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.'"
Matthew 28:19 Jesus said:
"'Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' Amen."
1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one."

which has several videos
to help you better grasp
the idea of a God who is three in one.
# 3
John 1:1-2 reveals that Jesus is called
The Word of God.
The verse also reveals that
Jesus IS God -
And that Jesus is WITH God.
We read in John 1:1-2...
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
These two verses
show (as did Psalm 45) two parts of the Trinity.
To understand what it means for
Jesus to be the Word of God,
it helps to
remind ourselves
that when Jesus was on earth,
his words WERE the Words of God.
~
We will not understand
the full implications of Jesus being
The Word of God
in this life.
