We will do 2 tests.

Let's test with -  Psalm 97 verse 10...

That verse

has the word

"hate"

in it.

When you are evaluating the word "hate,"

I would like you to use this definition: 

Hate = Continual opposition.

Test

Psalm 97:10

begins with these words:

People who love the Lord hate evil...

Do you hate evil?

?

We sometimes have a soft place in our heart

for

certain kinds of sin,

and we shelter those sins

instead of

get rid of them.

In your spiritual life,

do you work to continually

oppose evil,

or do you

often embrace it or ignore it?

Is your heart healthy in this area?

I invite you to join me in this

Psalm 51:10

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Create in me a clean heart,

O God,

And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Amen

David prayed this way,

and God often uses this verse

to remind us

to pray these words and keep our heart strong.

Prayer for Transformation

Heavenly Father,

I want to be more like you.

I pray for a renewed mind.

Renew my mind so that I think like you.

Renew my mind so I see evil as you see evil.

Renew my mind so that

I oppose sin

instead of embrace it or ignore it.

Renew my mind so that

I desire what you want me to desire.

Lord,

as I read your Word with a teachable heart,

I ask you to

renew my mind.

I pray this prayer,

in the

Life-Transforming Name of Jesus,

Amen

It says...

Light is sown for the righteous,

And gladness for the upright in heart.

Psalm 97:11

God tells us

there are wonderful blessings

for those who seek to

live right for God.

We have another area to check

from Psalm 97.

Our second heart health test

is found

in verse 12.

Testing  1, 2, 3......

Psalm 97:12 says:

Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous,

And give thanks

at the remembrance of His holy name.

We sometimes get

so busy

or

so distracted

that we neglect to

rejoice in the Lord and give thanks to him.

Do you rejoice in the Lord regularly with praise?

Do you give thanks to God regularly?

Is your heart healthy in this area?

Prayer for Transformation

Heavenly Father,

I want to be more like you.

I pray for a renewed mind.

Renew my mind so that I think like you.

Renew my mind

so that

I am often thanking you for your blessings.

Renew my mind

so that

I bubble over with rejoicing in you. 

I declare that

I will notice

the things you do for me,

and I will thank you and I will rejoice.

Renew my mind

so that

I desire what you want me to desire.

Lord,

as I read your word with a teachable heart,

I ask you to

renew my mind.

Thank you

for what you are going to do for me.

And...

I praise you, right now, for your mercy and grace!
