Inspiration for
Running the Race
We all need inspiration sometimes!
Consider taking your
children and teens
through this page.
Introduction
to this page
This page is intended to bless and encourage you
as you:
Run your Race
for God.
This page is inspired by two things:
Chariots of Fire is an inspirational movie
about an athlete, Eric Liddell, who runs his race for God.
The movie is a large and frequent part of this page.
The first video on the page gives a quick look at the movie.
You may want to view this movie trailer today
or at some point in the week.
I highly recommend you watch the movie at some point in the near future. It is my hope that the movie will be entertaining and inspirational for you.
Here is a quick look at
Chariots of Fire:
Monday
We all fall down.
Monday Devotional
In life, we all fall down.
Remember back to a time when you fell down.
Was it hard to get back up?
What helped you get back up?
What about the next time you fall down?
I want to leave something with you to inspire you so that the next time you fall down, it will be easier to get up.
It is my hope that the next time you fall down, you will remember the following short videos, and they will make it easier to get back up.
The first one is from the movie: Chariots of Fire.
I'm titling the first one: Get Back Up and Become a Miracle of God
Get Back Up and Become a Miracle of God
We all stumble and fall sometimes.
Don't quit.
You can still win the race!
Lord,
When I fall down,
You Raise Me Up.

Hebrews 12:1-2
Inspirational Music featuring Hebrews 12:1-3
We live for you, Lord!
Let us run with endurance the race
that is set before us.
Since we
are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares
us,
and let us run with
endurance the race that is set before us
looking unto Jesus, the author
and finisher of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before Him
endured the cross,
despising the shame,
and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV
Dear Lord,
I will stir up zeal for You,
and
I will stir up zeal for running the race
in a way that gives you glory.
Amen
Wednesday
God has us in a training program.
We sometimes call it spiritual growth.
~
God trains us as godly athletes.
In this training program,
God coaches us in order
to help us become great spiritual athletes.
~
I urge you to submit to God and ask him to
be your Coach and train you.
I press toward the goal for the prize
of the upward call of God in Jesus Christ.
Philippians 3:14 NKJV
Therefore I run thus: not
with uncertainty.
Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
But I
discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest,
when I have
preached to others,
I myself should become disqualified.
1 Corinthians 9:26-27 NKJV
Disclaimer:
The video above talks about running when you are tired.
We do not recommend that you push yourself
when you are jogging.
Please make wise decisions.
_
The next video is a great video
to illustrate God's training program.
However, the music is too loud.
I hope you will be able to hear the teaching and
gain inspiration from it.

The Bible Says
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
Often we forget to wait on the Lord.
Hebrews 12 tells us:
Let us lay aside every

and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with
endurance the race

God has plans for Your Victory!
Wednesday
Motivation to KEEP Going
There will be cheering for you
at the end of the race.
I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 NKJV
Well done, good and faithful servant.
Matthew 25:21 NKJV
The Finish Line
Thursday
Making it over the Finish Line.
No matter...
If you run so fast that you fly over the finish line
or
If you only hobble over the finish line,
you will still hear the cheering,
and
you can still feel the satisfaction of saying:
I have fought the good fight!
I have finished the race!
I have kept the faith!
Thursday Thoughts
Some of us will run energetically over the finish line, and some of us may just hobble over the finish line.
But either way, the finish line can be special, and we can realize that it directs us to our heavenly home.
Reflection on Father God:
Many of us did not have an earthly father who knew how to help us through the tough times in life.
Some who are reading this had fathers who literally abused them.
It is true that not all of us have had an earthly father to help us through life, but all of us have a heavenly Father who walks with us every step.
It is my hope
as you watch this inspirational video,
you will see your Heavenly Father lovingly helping you
in your times of need as you run the race.
Derek Redmond
I hope you realize that
Derek Redmond was
one of the most inspiring people on this page.
Not all of us
are going to be champions
in the eyes of the world,
but we can
ALL
be champions in our Heavenly Father's eyes.
Eric Liddell was not just a great athlete,
but he was an amazing Christian.
He was born into a missionary family, and as an adult,
he chose to be a missionary.
His story is inspiring.
Note we have three entries left on this page.
I wrote the following story to be thought-provoking.
I hope the Lord shares personalized insights with you as you read it.
NOTE: I chose the name "Eric"
without thinking about Eric Liddell.
I wrote this story many years ago.
So please realize
that the "Eric" in the story is not Eric Liddell.
Running the Race
As Eric leaped across the finish line, he yelled, "I win! I did it!"
Eric slowed his pace as he trotted over to God's throne. He was still breathing hard as he panted, "I win first prize!"
God sadly shook his head. "You didn't win first prize."
"Yes, I did. I finished first."
"The one with the best attitude is the one who wins first prize. I told you that several times, but you never listened to me. I did notice that you made several critical comments about the attitudes of the other runners."
Eric leaned over and put the palms of his hands on his knees. He let his head drop down. Seconds passed. The disappointed runner seemed to be frozen in that position. Suddenly, Eric jerked his head up. Then he snapped his body to a straight standing position. His eyes eagerly met the eyes of the Lord. With hope in his voice, he cautiously said, "I guess there is no way you'd change the rules for me?"
"No," came the firm response.
Eric took in a deep breath and blew it out.
Eric's shoulders slumped, and he shook his head.
Then he mumbled, "Oh....Gee....Gee I wish I had listened to you, God."

God tells us what a good attitude looks like:
Love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control

Here is one last video that I found that I wanted to share.
I hope something in it will be a blessing to you.
And thank you for visiting this page.
It is my prayer that something on this page was life-changing or at least life-helping.
I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 NKJV
~
Lord,
I dedicate myself to you.
I will keep you first in my life.
I will seek to obey you.
I will get up when I fall down.
I will keep the faith.
AMEN!
