Surrounded

Psalm 49

says,

"There is no need

to fear

when times of trouble come,

 even though surrounded by enemies!"

Psalm 49:5 TLB 

Many negative things come and surround us.

All kinds of Trouble,

Hopelessness,

Confusion,

Rejection,

and 

___________.

"What has you surrounded?"

"What predicament are you facing?"

Our instruction manual

tells us to say,

"Though I am surrounded by troubles,

you [God] will bring me safely through them."

Psalm 138:7a TLB

Our instruction manual

also tells us to say: 

Tell me what to do, O Lord, and make it plain

because I am surrounded by waiting enemies.

Psalm 27:11 TLB

It is helpful to remember that

when Elisha was surrounded by enemies,*

God opened his eyes

to see that

he was actually surrounded

by the

angels of the Lord.

 * Scripture 2 Kings 6:15-17
He and his servant could see.

And it is even better to realize

that 

when we face troubles and trials,

you and I

are

actually

surrounded

by God

and protected by God.

Right now,

it may LOOK bad.

But God is not finished.

This is how I fight my battles...

God tells us to:

Put on the garment of praise

for the

spirit of heaviness.

Isaiah 61:3b

Praise

God also tells us to

put on the Armor of God - and pray!

Ephesians 6:11  Put on the whole armor of God...

(then the Bible gives a description of the armor)

Prayer

A Faith Builder Prayer

Lord, your Word says,  "Lord, when doubts fill my mind, when my heart is in turmoil, quiet me and give me renewed hope and cheer.".... Lord, I lay down my doubts and concerns and pick up faith and hope and cheer. 

Lord, your Word says, "The Commander of the armies of heaven is here among us. He, the God of Jacob, has come to rescue us!" ... Lord, I glorify you, and I cry out for your rescue. You are able.

Lord, your Word says, "Arise O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered." ... Lord,  I cry out to you to "Arise and scatter" ungodly things that the forces of evil send my way. And I will also cry out for you to "Arise" and help me scatter ungodly thoughts, emotions, and attitudes that weaken me and draw my attention away from your love and power.  

And Lord, your Word says, "Come and see the glorious things God has done. What marvelous miracles happen to his people." ... Lord, I will meditate on the Scriptures that remind me of the amazing miracles you have done before ....and I will build up my faith for the miracles you will do again.

In Jesus' name I pray,

And when we fall...

We all fall down

sometimes.

Remember back to a time when you fell down.
